Maggie (Client Story)
Please note that the names used here are fictious and any representations of actual people is coincidence.
This is a beautiful example as to why we do what we do here at Interfaith Ministry every day. We love our community and the support we not only give them, but they give us.
Maggie lives with her mother Carla. Carla is 82 and has multiple health issues. Maggie takes care of Carla. Its a full time endeavor. Maggie herself fell ill and without health insurance for herself, she went to St Michael's clinic. They prescribed medication to treat Maggie's condition and sent her to us at Interfaith Ministries for help paying for her medication. The emergency assistance director listened to Maggie's story and not only helped Maggie get her medication, she referred Maggie to the EARPDC's Area Agency on Aging to see about the possibility of receiving compensation for caring for her mother and getting respite care to allow her some breathing room for herself.
As we have told you before, its not just Interfaith Ministries, but the whole community of donors and other non-profit agencies that's needed to care for our neighbors in need.
We are blessed to live in such a caring community.
